James Gué finishes 6th in LMPC with Level 5 Motorsports at the American Le Mans Series 58th Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring

Daytona Beach, FL; (March 22nd 2010) Grand-Am driver James Gué competed this past weekend with Level 5 Motorsports for the opening round of the American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patrón for the 58th Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring presented by Fresh from Florida from March 17-20.

The last time Gué competed full in the ALMS was in 2004 driving for Miracle Motorsports in a LMP2 car with teammate Ian James, where the duo posted 2 wins and Gué finished 2nd in the final points championship. This will be Gué's third time competing in the 12 hours of Sebring, with the best result of 2nd place in LMP2 in 2004.

Level 5 Motorsports ran two cars in the newly formed LMPC class; the driver line for the #95 car will be team owner Scott Tucker, James Gué, and Ryan Hunter-Reay. The #55 car will also include Scott Tucker, as well as Christophe Bouchut, and Mark Wilkins.

In qualifying teammate Ryan Hunter-Reay posted the second quickest time only 1 tenth of a second behind the pole winning car, while Christophe Bouchut posted the 4th quickest time in the #55 team car. In the race the two Level 5 cars jumped to the front running first and second for the first two hours of of the race. At the end of Tucker's first stint he reported high water temperatures and that the power steering was starting to fail. As it turned out the pully on the front side of the engine that runs the powersteering and water pump broke. After spending 3 1/2 hour in the garage pulling the engine out and remaking a pulley the #95 returned to the track with Gué behind the wheel. Even though Gué was turning the fastest laps in the LMPC class they were just too far behind to make up any positions.  While the #95 car finished 6th in class the team car of Tucker, Wilkins and Bouchut finished 1st in the LMPC class.

"I was excited to have the opportunity to join a top notch team like Level 5 Motorsports. It was great to go back to Sebring; I really enjoy the track and the whole atmosphere. It was a bit unexpected to have the pulley fail the way it did, but the team did a remarkable job of fixing the car and getting it back out. Even though we had mechanical issues I was happy to the see the team car pick up the win for Level 5." said Gué
